Melinda was born and raised in Austin, Texas. As a licensed Texas Attorney, she has represented plaintiffs and defendants in a broad range of litigation matters, including personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability, insurance coverage, trucking and transportation litigation, auto accidents, commercial vehicle collisions, and dog bites. Melinda began her career at a prominent personal injury firm. She later joined one of the state’s most reputable insurance defense firms, where she successfully mediated and negotiated high-stakes cases valued at over $500,000.00. Prior to joining Doyle & Seelbach, Melinda served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas where she issued open records letter rulings on issues regarding the Texas Public Information Act.

  • Representation of businesses and individuals as plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury lawsuits including wrongful death, auto accidents, commercial vehicle collisions, premises liability, and dog bites.

Extended Bio

After graduating college, Melinda worked as a photographer at the Walt Disney World Resort. Her close interactions with guests and her love for storytelling inspired her to attend the University of Kansas School of Law, where she honed her skills in litigation, earned the Advocacy Skills Certificate, and gained hands-on experience through her work in the Legal Aid Clinic. Melinda served as the Symposium Editor-in-Chief of the Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy and received CALI Awards (highest grades) in two classes. Melinda was also a finalist in the 2020 In-House Mock Trial Competition and served as Team Captain of KU’s Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court team.

In her free time, Melinda enjoys writing, hiking, bowling, photography, films, board games, and spending time with her friends, family, and her cat and dogs.
